2. Safety
Minsk is one of the safest cities in Europe. You will be surprised at how clean and calm the streets are at any time, day or night. Unlike most Central and Eastern European cities, there are very few homeless people or drunks wandering the streets. Minsk is a city where you need to do something really outrageous to find trouble, even at night. If you need any help, there is a large police presence in the city centre.
3. Nature
Minsk is certainly a destination for nature lovers. Parks and green zones can be found everywhere in the city, which also reflects on the air quality. It is very unusual for a capital to hear such a wide range of birdsongs in the morning or to see a forest animal, such as a beaver, calmly crossing a road somewhere in the city. If you are ready for a countryside trip, the must-sees are: Nesvizh town, Dudutki museum complex, Mirsky castle (in the town of Mir).

4. Cultural background
After The Great Patriotic War, Minsk was mostly rebuilt and became one of the world’s masterpieces of Socialist-Realist urban planning. The best way to experience Minsk is by wandering the streets and leisurely enjoying the architecture of the Old Upper city, the Trinity suburb, the Isle of Tears and of course by visiting the diamond-shaped National Library (an honored member of The world’s 30 ugliest buildings)  Another place that demands special attention is The Great Patriotic War Museum, which has been entirely remodeled and is definitely worth visiting!

5. Culinary delights at great prices
Belarusian food is simple, hearty and filling. Minsk has an overwhelming number of places to eat at all price ranges. You must taste Draniki (a sort of potato pancake), Holodnik (a cold beetroot soup), Machanka (a picture paints a thousand words), the non-alcoholic beverage Kvas (a fermented beverage), Mors (a cranberry or blueberry beverage), and Khrenovucha or Krambambulya (hard-alcohol).

8. Special approach
Minsk is a quickly developing as both a tourist destination, as well as a destination for students who want to study the Russian language. There are a number of advantages to studying Russian in Minsk. The teachers at school are young, professional, motivated and have a good command of the latest pedagogical approaches. In addition, we offer small Russian course groups – max 8 people (compared to other popular destinations, where the average group-size is 12-15 students).
