In this lesson, you will learn how to say hello in Russian in an informal setting. You will need the word “hi” (hi) and the person name short form you are greeting. Note: after the word “hi” before the name there is a comma, and at the phrase end – an exclamation mark.
– Hi, Sasha (Саша)!
– Hi, Lyosha (Леша)!
– Hi, Lena (Лена)!
– Hi, Olga (Ольга)!
You can continue this small talk by asking how your conversation partner is doing. Addressing by name in this case is possible, but not necessary. If they ask you, you can answer “fine (хорошо),” “fine (хорощо),” and thank them.
– How are you, Sasha (Саша)?
– I’m fine, thank you.
