Lesson 1. Russian alphabet

This is a lecture from the series of lessons “Learn to read in Russian”. This lesson you will get acquainted with the Russian alphabet. You will also discover why the Russian alphabet is sometimes called “cyrillic”, you will learn some of its history, in which countries is it used and how many letters it has. Start by memorizing all the letters and how they are written: А а, Б б, В в, Г г, Д д, Е е, Ё ё, Ж ж, З з, И и, Й й, К к, Л л, М м, Н н, О о, П п, Р р, С с, Т т, У у, Ф ф, Х х, Ц ц, Ч ч, Ш ш, Щ щ, ъ, ы, ь, Э э, Ю ю, Я я.
