Lesson 30. Where are you from?

In this lesson, you will continue to learn how to talk about yourself using the constriction “Откуда ты?” “Where are you from? In addition, you will practice again how to say hello in an informal setting and say your name. You will also learn new ways to say hello and other useful phrases for the first conversation.

– Привет! Меня зовут Аня. Я из России. / Hi! My name is Ann. I’m from Russia..

To tell where you’re from, you have to use this pattern:

personal pronoun (я, ты) (me, you) + from + the word in the genitive case (France, China, Moscow).

Note: Russia – (Россия — из России) from Russia, (Китай — из Китая) China – from China, (Франция — из Франции) France – from France. BUT! (США — из США) the U.S. A. – from the U.S.A. (does not change).
