One of the early works of the German director Fatih Akin, who later received a Golden Globe for the film “In the Fade”. “In july” (Солнце ацтеков) is a romantic comedy and a travel movie in one. The story begins with Daniel, who buys a Maya ring with the symbol of the sun in a jewelry store. The woman selling him the ring, Julie, claims that soon he will meet the woman of his dreams, and she will have that same symbol of the sun.
The story is about how to cope with love and relationships when you enter adulthood with all its responsibilities, especially if you are not ready for it yet. The film tells about a love triangle consisting of Carlo, his girlfriend Julia (who is expecting her first child) and 18-year-old Francesca, with whom Carlo has an affair — his last chance for an uncomplicated youthful affair before his new life.
This is the story of a Palestinian baker arrested for the murder of an Israeli soldier. The baker is allowed to remain at large on the condition that he will work as an informant. This is not only a crime thriller, a considerable part of the film is devoted to the romantic line. Before getting involved in the brutal consequences of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Omar was going to marry Nadia.
