In this lesson, you will get acquainted with the construction of the opposition “This is not …., but …” and practice using it using words already known to you. In place of the omissions, you can substitute any noun in the nominative case, i.e. answering the questions “who?” or “what?”.
Это дерево? — Это не дерево, а парк. / Is this a tree? This is not a tree, but a park.
Это собака? — Это не собака, а кот. / Is this a dog? It’s not a dog, it’s a cat.
