A few rules to get you started. All months in Russian are written with a small letter, except for rare cases when they are at the beginning of a sentence. All names of months in Russian are masculine. Now the main thing is the months themselves and their pronunciation.

Like all nouns, the month’s names in the Russian language change in cases. It is easiest to remember these changes in conjunction with the basic prepositions with which the month’s names can be used in speech.
When you need to say that something will happen in a month, use the preposition в/in and put the month name in the prepositional case. To do this, change the ending to -е. Когда? В каком месяце? / When? What month?
Когда отмечают Рождество в России? — В январе. — When is Christmas celebrated in Russia? — In January.
When you need to talk about a gap, you need the prepositions с… до…/to…from…August and March get the genitive ending -a, it is added to the base. All other months change from –ь to the ending –я. Когда? В какой промежуток? / When? In what interval?
Сколько вы будете отсутствовать? — С мая до сентября. — How long will you be away? — From May to September.
When you make an appointment for a particular month or an event, use the preposition на/for. The month name remains grammatically unchanged. Когда? На какой месяц? / When? For what month?
Когда у вас запланирована свадьба? — На август. — When is your wedding planned? — For August.
